Accessing phase slip events in Nb meander wires

We report transport studies through Nb-based superconducting meander wires fabricated by focused ion beam (FIB) milling technique. The effect of meandering on quantum has been probed experimentally a direct comparison with the pristine thin-film device before meandering. normal metal (NM) to superconductor (SC) phase transition becomes wide and multi-step Below temperature (Tc), resistance-versus-temperature measurements reveal resistive tailing which is explained thermally activated slip (TAPS) mechanism. TAPS fit indicates selective region be responsible for tailing. Besides, (PS) mechanism in evident its current-voltage characteristics that feature stair-case type intermediate steps during SC-NM transition. modulation investigated respect external magnetic field. It observed PS events are facilitated fields up about 250 mT. Further, critical current varies strongly field T less than 0.5Tc H tahn 100 mT where it fluctuates an oscillatory manner. Finally, Nb based structures can promising candidates future applications.
